IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 30-40, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS, DIMINISHING.
SYNOPSIS
A trough with weakened frontal system over the Strait of Otranto is shifting southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS
In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 8-16, in places up to 22, in the Velebit Channel up to 32, diminishing and turning to NW 6-14 knots. Elsewhere NW winds 10-18 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 15-25 km. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain in the extreme south of the Adriatic in the morning, but becoming brighter later on. Air temperatures a little higher.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS
New cloud increase. In places along the coast light NE, in the open of the North Adriatic light SW, elsewhere NW winds. Sea smooth, in the open of the South Adriatic toward the Strait of Otranto up to slight.
