A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC. IN THE MORNING GUSTS OF SE, IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC OF NE WINDS, 30-50 KNOTS. SEA LOCALLY IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC UP TO 5. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL DURING THE NIGHT LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS UP TO 40 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A low with frontal disturbance is extending a trough toward the Adriatic and it is shifting along the Italian coast southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds 16-34, in the North Adriatic NE 12-26, diminishing till midday to 8-18, in the evening to 4-14 knots, and turning along the coast to NE winds. Sea 3-4, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic 4-5, calming in the afternoon to 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places with mist reduced to around 4 km. Fair or mainly cloudy with a risk of scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder, particularly in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic. No significant change in air temperatures.

Gradual clearing. In the northern part of the Adriatic light to moderate, only in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE, in the southern part moderate SE and E winds, diminishing till the morning, firstly along the coast, and giving way to light NE. Sea further calming.
