LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 65 KNOTS DIMINISHING IN THE SECOND PART OF THE DAY TO 35-40, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS. IN THE BEGINNING SEA 5 LOCALLY IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the north. A low with its centre near Sardinia is slowly filling up.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-20, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 26, in the Velebit Channel up to 34 knots diminishing in the afternoon to 6-16, in the North Adriatic up to 22, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the afternoon in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic E and SE winds 6-16 knots are expected. Sea 3-4, in the open of the North Adriatic possibly 5, diminishing during the day to 2-3, in the open of the North Adriatic 3-4. Visibility more than 20 km. Fine to fair while in the North Adriatic and in the open fair to mostly cloudy.
