SYNOPSIS

A weakened frontal system is shifting across the South Adriatic eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest towards the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 8-16, in the Velebit Channel up to 20 knots. Elsewhere NW winds 8-16 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 15-25 km. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, but in the rest of the Adriatic still variably cloudy with rain in places. Air temperatures with no significant change, only in the South Adriatic a little lower.

In the North and along the coast of the rest of the Adriatic moderate to fresh NE, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic light to moderate NW winds. Sea smooth or slight. Variably or mainly cloudy.
