IN THE NORTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL IN THE MORNING STILL UP TO 60 KNOTS, EASING THROUGH THE NIGHT. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.SYNOPSIS
A ridge of high pressure is extending over the Adriatic from the northwest, while a shallow low over the Tyrrhenian Sea is extending a shallow trough toward the south of the Adriatic.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS
NE winds 6-16, in the North and Central Adriatic 12-22, in the Velebit Channel this morning still up to 32 knots, gradually easing through the night to 6-16, in the Velebit Channel to 10-20 knots, and turning in the open sea to NW. Sea 2-3, locally in the North Adriatic during the day 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic. Gradual clearing is expected in the North, in the afternoon in a part of the Central Adriatic as well.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS
Mostly clear, but in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder, mainly in the southern part. Light to moderate, in the Velebit Channel at first still up to fresh NE, in the open sea NW winds, in the Central and South Adriatic up to fresh. Sea smooth or slight.
