IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, TOWARD THE OPEN SEA OF N and NW WINDS, 40-65 KNOTS. SEA TOWARD THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC IN THE AFTERNOON 5-6. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A low is shifting from the Adriatic further southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 15-25, in places up to 35 knots, easing in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic till the end of the day. Toward the open of the Central and South Adriatic N and NW winds 20-35 knots. Sea in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic 2-3, elsewhere 3-4, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic in the afternoon 5-6. Visibility 10-20 km. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic clearing, elsewhere variably cloudy with rain in places, in the South Adriatic with brief isolated rain showers and thunder.

Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic at first still fair. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic light SW, then NW winds. Elsewhere moderate, in places up to fresh NE, toward the open sea strong and near gale force N and NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate. Air temperatures a little lower.
