IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50, LATE IN THE DAY UP TO 65, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 85 KNOTS. ELSEWHERE LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 30-40, FROM MIDDAY UP TO 50, IN THE EXTREME SOUTH UP TO 60 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH, FROM MIDDAY IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC AS WELL, SEA 4-5, IN THE EXTREME SOUTH 5-6. A ridge of high pressure is extending toward the North Adriatic from the northwest, while the low over the Tyrrhenian Sea is extending a trough toward the Central and South Adriatic.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS
In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 12-24, strengthening from midday to 16-32, in the Velebit Channel up to 45 knots. Elsewhere SE winds 12-24, increasing from midday to 16-32, in the extreme south up to 40 knots. Sea 3-4, in the South, from midday in the rest of the Adriatic as well, possibly 4-5, in the extreme south 5-6. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers and thunder, toward the end of the day and during the night with a risk of wind drifted snow in the Velebit Channel. End of precipitation and cloud breaking up expected in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic from midday.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS
In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, in the Velebit Channel with a risk of wind drifted snow, elsewhere mostly clear. Strong, in places up to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic strong and near gale force SE winds, in the extreme south up to gale force. Winds expected to ease a little all along the Adriatic in the second part of the night. Sea moderate and rough, in the extreme south up to very rough.
