ELSEWHERE LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-50, IN THE EXTREME SOUTH UP TO 65 KNOTS, EASING TOMORROW MORNING. SEA LOCALLY TOWARD THE OPEN UP TO 5. IN THE OPEN OF SOUTHERN DALMATIA VISIBILITY LOCALLY REDUCED TO LESS THAN 1 KM DUE TO FOG.

SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is extending toward the North Adriatic from the northwest, while the low over the Tyrrhenian Sea is extending a trough toward the Central and South Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 15-30, in the Velebit Channel up to 45 knots. Elsewhere SE winds 15-25, in the extreme south up to 35 knots. Sea 3-4, toward the open 4-5. Visibility 10-20, but in the open of southern Dalmatia less than 1 km due to fog. In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with scattered rain, in the Velebit Channel toward the end of the day with a risk of wind drifted snow. Elsewhere cloud breaking up. No significant change in air temperatures.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, easing later on.
