SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough lies over the central Mediterranean, while a ridge of high pressure will be intensifying slowly from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE and E winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE, and in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to fresh SE and E winds, turning before the morning to NE. Sea slight, in the northern part of the Adriatic up to moderate. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain or brief isolated rain showers with thunder, then gradual clearing, firstly along the coast.
