SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough lies over the central Mediterranean, while a ridge of high pressure will be intensifying slowly from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 10-25, in the Velebit Channel up to 30 knots. In the rest of the Adriatic SE and E winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, locally in the open up to 4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Gradual clearing along the coast.

Clearing. In the open sea at first still scattered rain. Light to fresh NE, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic SE winds. Along the coast of the North Adriatic still up to strong NE winds at first. Sea smooth or slight, in the open possibly up to moderate.
