IN THE OPEN SEA A RISK OF GUSTS OF NW WINDS UP TO 35 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC THIS MORNING STILL GUSTS OF SE, IN THE EXTREME NORTH OF THE ADRIATIC AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL BRIEFLY OF NE WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.SYNOPSIS
A shallow trough with frontal system is shifting across the North and a part of the Central Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure will gradually intensify from the southwest.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS
NW and W winds 10-20, in the open sea up to 24, gradually easing in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day to 6-16 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic this morning still SE, in the extreme north of the Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel briefly NE winds, 12-24 knots. Sea 2-3, locally 3-4, mainly in the open, calming in the northern part of the Adriatic toward the end of the day to 1-2. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers and thunder. Clearing is expected late in the day.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS
Mostly clear. Light to moderate, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to fresh, in the open sea up to strong NW winds, gradually easing, firstly in the northern part of the Adriatic, till the morning elsewhere as well. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic today still up to moderate, gradually calming in the northern part of the Adriatic, till the end of the day elsewhere as well.
