SYNOPSIS

A field of high pressure over the Adriatic is slowly weakening, while a trough with frontal system is approaching from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic calm or variable winds 5-10 knots. In the Central and South Adriatic calm or NW winds 4-12, in the open of the South Adriatic up to 16 knots, then becoming mainly calm again during the night. Sea 1-2, in the extreme south 2-3. Visibility 20 km. Clear, but gradual heavier cloud increase is expected during the night.

In the North Adriatic light to moderate NE and E, in the Velebit Channel NE up to strong. In the Central and South Adriatic light to moderate SE, in places from midday up to strong. Sea smooth, increasing to slight, in the open of the North Adriatic up to moderate. Overcast with rain in places.
