IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL IN THE AFTERNOON OF NE UP TO 70 KNOTS. IN THE EVENING AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and NW WINDS, IN THE SOUTH OF SW and SE WINDS, 35-45 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY THIS MORNING IN THE NORTH, DURING THE NIGHT IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A field of low pressure over the Adriatic and the central Mediterranean keeps an unsettled weather. It is expected to deepen and its centre to shift over the South Adriatic in the evening and during the night.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North Adriatic NE and N winds 15-25, in the Velebit Channel in the afternoon and in the evening NE strengthening to 25-35 knots. In the Central and South Adriatic mainly E and SE winds 6-16, turning during the day to NW and NE, and strengthening in the afternoon to 14-26 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open in the evening 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably and mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong NE and NW, in the Velebit Channel NE winds up to near gale force. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic turning to moderate to strong SW and SE winds, in places briefly up to near gale force. Sea slight and moderate. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.
