LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 65 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with cold front is shifting across the Adriatic further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 15-30, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots. In the South Adriatic at first still mainly SW and NW winds 4-12 knots. Sea 3-4, in the South Adriatic at first 1-2. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and isolated thundery rain showers, mainly in the South and Central Adriatic. Partial clearing is expected in the North Adriatic from midday.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Moderate to near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE, and toward the open of the South and Central Adriatic NW winds. Sea slight and moderate. Fine or fair, in places still variably cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.
