SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure has intensified toward the Adriatic from the west, while a trough and a high level low still lie over the South Adriatic.

NE, in the open sea NW winds, 14-28, in the Velebit Channel NE up to 34, easing in the afternoon to 12-24, in the Velebit Channel to 30 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open south of Istria 3-4, possibly up to 5 this morning. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear and a little warmer. In the South Adriatic still variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain or isolated thundery rain showers in the extreme south.
