IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS, EASING THROUGH THE NIGHT. IN THE EXTREME NORTH OF THE ADRIATIC, IN THE EVENING AND DURING THE NIGHT IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AS WELL, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS.

A low over the western Mediterranean is extending a trough toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

Mainly SE winds 6-16, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 24, easing during the night and turning in places to SW. In the extreme north of the Adriatic, in the evening and during the night in the Velebit Channel as well, NE winds 12-22 knots. Sea 2-3, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably and mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate, in places in the extreme north of the Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel up to strong NE winds. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate and fresh SE, gradually easing and turning in places to SW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the South Adriatic up to moderate. Variably and mainly cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.
