WARNING
LOCAL GUSTS OF NW, ALONG THE COAST OF THE NORTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC THIS MORNING OF NE WINDS, 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AND IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC UP TO 55 KNOTS, EASING TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT. SEA LOCALLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC UP TO 5 AND AT FIRST STILL GUSTS OF S WINDS 35-40 KNOTS. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE THIS MORNING, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC.
SYNOPSIS
A shallow low is shifting from the South Adriatic further eastwards, while a new trough with frontal disturbance is approaching from the west.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS
NW, along the coast of the North and Central Adriatic this morning NE winds, 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 28, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic NW winds up to 32 knots. In the South Adriatic at first still S winds 12-24 knots. In the North Adriatic in the afternoon and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic till the end of the day, winds will gradually ease to 6-16 knots. Sea 3-4, in the south of the Adriatic possibly 4-5, but calming in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward the end of the day and during the night to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Cloud breaking, but in the south of the Adriatic this morning still variably cloudy with rain and with a chance of isolated rain showers and thunder. A new cloud increase with rain in places expected in the North Adriatic toward the end of the day and elsewhere later on, mainly in the second part of the night.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS
In the North and in a part of the Central, then in the rest of the Adriatic as well, heavier cloud increase with scattered rain from the middle of the night, firstly in the northern part of the Adriatic. Light to moderate, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic in the first part of the night still moderate to strong NW, turning all along the Adriatic in the second part of the night to light to moderate, only in places before the morning up to fresh SW winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic in the first part of the night up to moderate.
