SYNOPSIS

A ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north toward the Adriatic, while a low over the Central Mediterranean is deepening.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and Central Adriatic E and SE winds 6-16, toward the end of the day and during the night NE strengthening to 10-20, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots. In the South Adriatic NW winds 6-16 knots, easing in the evening and turning gradually to NE. Sea 2-3, increasing in the evening, firstly in the open of the North Adriatic and in the Velebit Channel to 3-4. Visibility above 20 km. Variably cloudy and cold. Light rain is likely in the North Adriatic, mainly in the open.

Moderate, in places up to fresh, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Sea increasing to slight, in the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic, and in the Velebit Channel up to moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain in the North Adriatic, mainly in the open sea.
