SYNOPSIS

A cold front is shifting from the northeast across the Adriatic, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, in the open sea E winds as well, 6-16, in places still up to 20 knots this morning. In the Velebit Channel NE winds 12-22, in the morning up to 28 knots. Sea 2-3, in the Velebit Channel and in the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic this morning, possibly 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Along the coast of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, elsewhere variably cloudy, in the open sea of the Central, in the morning of the North Adriatic as well, some more clouds and a chance of rain.

Light to moderate, in places in the second part of the night up to fresh NE winds. In the Velebit Channel fresh, in the second part of the night up to strong NE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the Velebit Channel up to moderate. Along the coast of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, elsewhere variably cloudy, in the open sea with some more clouds and a risk of rain. Along the coast of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic partial clearing from the middle of the night, elsewhere along the coast moderate cloud increase.
