A low over southern Italy is slowly filling up, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north.

NE, in the open sea of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic E and SE winds, 16-32, in the North Adriatic up to 38, and in the Velebit Channel up to 50 knots. Winds slowly easing during the day to 14-28, in the Velebit Channel to 40 knots. Sea 4-5, in the open of the North Adriatic 5-6. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain or snow, in the open of the South and Central Adriatic with isolated rain showers and thunder.

Winds further easing to fresh and strong, only in the Velebit Channel NE winds still up to gale force. Sea moderate and rough, gradually calming. Variably cloudy with light scattered rain or snow, in the open of the South and Central Adriatic with isolated rain showers and thunder, but along the coast precipitation expected to die out and cloud to break up gradually.
