SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal system is shifting across the South Adriatic eastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 15-25, in the Velebit Channel 30-40 knots, easing in the afternoon. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE winds 20-30 knots, turning along the coast in the afternoon to NE. Sea 2-3, in the North Adriatic 3-4, and in the South 4-5, gradually calming in the afternoon. Visibility 10-20 km. Overcast with rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Clearing is expected in the North, in the afternoon in a part of the Central Adriatic as well. A little colder.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, elsewhere variably or mainly cloudy with scattered rain. Light to moderate, in places up to fresh NE, toward the open of the South Adriatic moderate to fresh SE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate.
