IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC MOST OF THE DAY LOCAL GUSTS OF SE, DURING THE NIGHT OF NE WINDS, 35-55 KNOTS. IN THE EXTREME SOUTH DURING THE FORENOON AND IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LATER ON, SEA LOCALLY UP TO 5. THUNDERSTORMS.

SYNOPSIS

A low is slowly filling up and it will shift across the Tyrrhenian Sea and a part of the Adriatic southeastwards, further toward the Ionian Sea, while a ridge of high pressure will intensify slowly from the northwest.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE and N winds gradually strengthening to 14-28, in places up to 34, and in the Velebit Channel toward the end of the day up to 46 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE winds 12-28, in places up to 34, easing in the afternoon and turning gradually to NE 12-28 knots, most lately in the extreme south. Sea 3-4, in the extreme south during the forenoon and in the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic later on 4-5. Visibility 10-20 km. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder.

Strong and near gale force, in places up to gale force NE and N, in the South Adriatic still up to strong SE winds at first. Sea slight and moderate, in the open of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to rough. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Gradual clearing is expected in the North Adriatic.
