ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 55 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow depression lies over the Adriatic, while a trough with weakened cold front is approaching from the northwest and shifting further southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW and NE winds 4-14, in the South, in the morning in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, SE winds up to 20 knots. NE winds strengthening in the North Adriatic toward the end of the day to 12-22 knots. Sea 2-3, in the South Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain or isolated rain showers and thunder. Passing cloud breaking up expected in the North Adriatic around midday and in the Central in the afternoon. Air temperatures a little lower.

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds. Sea slight, locally in the open and in the Velebit Channel up to moderate. Overcast with isolated thundery rain showers.
