IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC IN THE EVENING, THEN GRADUALLY IN THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AS WELL, GUSTS OF NE and NW WINDS 35-60, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75, AND IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT GUSTS OF SW WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. SEA IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING UP TO 5. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, FIRSTLY IN THE NORTH, THEN GRADUALLY IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A broad field of raised air pressure over the Adriatic is gradually weakening, while a low centered over the Gulf of Genoa and its frontal system are shifting toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds 6-16, strengthening firstly in the North, then in the rest of the Adriatic to 10-20, in places up to 24 knots. In the extreme north of the Adriatic winds turning late in the day to NE and NW 12-24 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing to 3-4. Visibility 10 km. Mainly cloudy with rain, showers and thunder, firstly in the North, then in the Central Adriatic as well.

Moderate to strong SE winds turning in the North, then gradually in the Central Adriatic as well, to moderate and near gale force, in the Velebit Channel up to gale force NE and NW, in the South Adriatic to moderate to strong SW winds. Sea 3-4, in the open of the North Adriatic possibly up to 5. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder.
