SYNOPSIS

A low over the Ionian Sea is gradually filling up and shifting eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest toward the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE and NW winds 15-25, in places up to 32, in the Velebit Channel and in the open of the South and Central Adriatic up to 36 knots. Sea 3-4, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic 5-6. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy, in the North Adriatic mostly clear. Rather cold.

Moderate to strong, in places up to near gale force NE and NW winds, gradually easing in the morning. Sea slight and moderate, toward the open of the South Adriatic up to rough. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic still variably cloudy at first.
