A RISK OF FOG PATCHES IN THE NORTH AND OF LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40 KNOTS IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC THIS MORNING. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE NIGHT.SYNOPSIS
A field of high pressure has intensified briefly over the Adriatic, but a trough is expected to approach from the west and a new low to generate in the Gulf of Genoa tomorrow.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS
NE winds 4-14, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 22, easing till midday, except in the extreme south, and turning later on, firstly in the open sea, to SE 4-14, strengthening during the night in the North, then in a part of the Central Adriatic as well, to 10-20 knots. Sea 1-2, in the South, toward the end of the day in the northern part of the Adriatic as well, 2-3. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 5 km due to mist, in the North Adriatic this morning possibly to less than 1 km due to fog. Mostly clear. A new cloud increase is expected in the North Adriatic from midday, bringing rain in places later on.WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS
Light to moderate SE winds further strengthening, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic in the second part of the night up to fresh. Sea smooth and slight. Cloud increase in the Central Adriatic as well, rain or isolated rain showers with thunder in the North Adriatic.
