LOCAL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-55 KNOTS AND SEA UP TO 5. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. A RISK OF GUSTS OF NW WINDS AROUND 35 KNOTS IN THE OPEN OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT, AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL FROM THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

A trough with frontal system has approached the Adriatic from the northwest and it is expected to shift southeastwards during the night.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE winds strengthening to 14-28, in the Bay of Kvarner and Kvarnerić in the morning, in the Central Adriatic from midday, and in the South Adriatic during the night, to 18-36 knots. SE winds will ease a little west and north of Istria toward the end of the day and during the night, and turn to NW 10-20 knots. Sea increasing to 3-4, then to 4-5, firstly in the northern part of the Adriatic. Visibility 10-20 km. Heavier cloud increase with rain, showers and thunder, firstly in the northern part of the Adriatic, toward the end of the day and during the night with a risk of more abundant precipitation.

Strong and gale force SE winds. In the North, from the middle of the night in a part of the Central Adriatic, SE winds will ease a little and turn to moderate to fresh, toward the open sea up to strong NW. Sea moderate and rough, only in the North Adriatic calming gradually to slight, toward the open, south of Istria, to moderate. Overcast with rain, showers and thunder, in places with a risk of more abundant precipitation.
