IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC TODAY STILL GUSTS OF SE WINDS 35-50 KNOTS AND SEA LOCALLY UP TO 5. A RISK OF FOG PATCHES IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow trough with frontal system is shifting across the Adriatic further southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NW, in places along the coast NE winds, 6-16, in the open of the central part at first still NW briefly up to 22 knots, easing a little around midday but strengthening again during the night. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic SE winds 16-32, in the central part during the forenoon and in the open sea toward the end of the day and during the night, SE winds easing and turning to NW 6-16, toward the open sea up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic most of the day 3-4, only locally 4-5, mainly in the open. Visibility 10-20, in places around 4 km due to mist, and in the North Adriatic possibly less than 1 km due to fog, mainly in the open sea. Mainly cloudy with scattered rain and isolated rain showers with thunder, ceasing in the North Adriatic in the morning and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic till the end of the day.

Light to moderate NW, in places along the coast NE, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to fresh NW winds. Along the coast in the first part of the night and in the open sea of the South Adriatic at first, up to strong SE winds. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South, at first of a part of the Central Adriatic as well, possibly up to moderate. Variably cloudy with rain, showers and thunder in the South, at first in a part of the Central Adriatic as well. A risk of fog patches in the North Adriatic.
