SYNOPSIS

A deep low centered over the Ionian Sea keeps an inflow of very cold air over the Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 15-30, in the Velebit Channel up to 40 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 15-30, easing gradually in the second part of the day to 10-20 and turning in the open sea to NW up to 25 knots. Sea 3-4, in the open 4-5, and in the open of the North Adriatic possibly up to 6 today. Visibility 10-20 km. Overcast and very cold with snow in places, in the south of the Adriatic with rain as well.
