WARNING

IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60, AND IN THE REST OF THE ADRIATIC TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY OF NE and NW WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC, PARTICULARLY IN THE EXTREME SOUTH.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow low over the South Adriatic is gradually shifting southeastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is intensifying toward the Adriatic from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds 12-24, in the Velebit Channel up to 30 knots. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic NW winds 8-18, strengthening toward the end of the day to 12-24, and turning along the coast to NE 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic, during the night elsewhere as well, 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km, only in places reduced due to snow. Variably cloudy, in the South Adriatic, toward the open sea and in the Velebit Channel with a risk of sleet and snow, in the South Adriatic with a risk of thunder, particularly in the extreme south.

Moderate to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE, and toward the open sea NW winds, easing a little in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic toward midday. Sea slight, in the open up to moderate. Fine or fair, toward the open sea variably cloudy with a risk of sleet and snow.
