LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL 35-40, IN PLACES OF THE NORTH ADRIATIC IN THE EVENING, AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL, STRENGTHENING UP TO 55 KNOTS. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF SE and E, IN PLACES ALONG THE COAST DURING THE NIGHT OF NE WINDS, 35-45, IN THE EXTREME SOUTH AROUND THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT BRIEFLY UP TO 50 KNOTS, AND SEA UP TO 5. IN THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC A RISK OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, PARTICULARLY DURING THE NIGHT.

SYNOPSIS

The low over the central Mediterranean will be slowly filling up and shifting toward the South Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

SE and E winds 10-20, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic strengthening to 14-28, turning in places along the coast toward the end of the day to NE, easing a little and turning to NE and NW. In the North Adriatic NE and E winds 4-14, in the Velebit Channel up to 20, strengthening during the night to 10-20, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots and turning in the open sea to NW. Sea 2-3, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic, and in the Velebit Channel, increasing to 3-4, in the extreme south up to 5. Visibility 10-20, in places around 4 km due to mist. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, particularly toward the end of the day and during the night. In the northern part fine or fair.

In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong, in the open sea up to near gale force SE and E, in places along the coast NE winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the extreme south at first possibly up to rough. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.
