SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is extending from the north toward the Adriatic, while unstable air is still circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 6-16, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 20, in the Velebit Channel up to 28 knots, easing briefly around midday and strengthening again late in the day. In the open sea of the South and Central Adriatic NW winds 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the North and in the extreme south of the Adriatic possibly up to 4. Visibility 20 km. Variably cloudy with isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly around midday and in the afternoon along the coast of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic.

Sea smooth or slight, in the North Adriatic and in the extreme south possibly up to moderate.
