LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL THIS MORNING UP TO 50 KNOTS. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

SYNOPSIS

The shallow field of low pressure over the Adriatic is slowly filling up, while unstable air is still circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 10-20, in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots, turning toward the open around midday and in the afternoon, in places along the coast as well, to NW. Sea 2-3, locally in the open up to 4. Visibility above 20 km. Variably cloudy with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

Light to moderate NE, only in places of the North and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to fresh. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to moderate. Fine or fair, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic still with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder.
