LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-45, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 50 KNOTS. A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC DURING THE DAY AND IN THE SOUTH LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT.

The ridge of high pressure is extending from the northwest toward the Adriatic, while moist and unstable air is circulating in high levels.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE, around midday and in the afternoon NW winds 6-16, only in places up to 20 knots. In the North Adriatic NE winds gradually strengthening to 10-20, in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots. In a part of the Central Adriatic in the afternoon NE winds will strengthen to 12-24 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open and in the Velebit Channel possibly 3-4. Visibility 20 km. Variably cloudy with a risk of scattered rain or isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the North Adriatic.
