LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 70 KNOTS, EASING IN THE AFTERNOON. IN THE OPEN OF THE SOUTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC TOWARD THE END OF THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT A RISK OF GUSTS OF NW WINDS UP TO 35 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure over the Adriatic will weaken a little, while a shallow low over Sicily is shifting southeastwards.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NE winds 12-24, in places up to 28, and in the Velebit Channel up to 36, easing in the afternoon and turning to NW 6-16, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic 10-20 knots. Sea 3-4, in the North Adriatic in the afternoon, then elsewhere along the coast calming gradually to 2-3. Visibility 10-20 km. Mostly clear, but in the South Adriatic in the morning still variably cloudy with a little rain in the extreme south.
