IN THE OPEN SEA OF THE SOUTH AND OF A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NW WINDS AROUND 35 KNOTS. IN THE EVENING GUSTS OF NE WINDS EXPECTED TO REACH 35-45, IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC UP TO 50 KNOTS.

SYNOPSIS

The ridge of high pressure is weakening, while a low over the Ionian Sea is filling up and a new cold front is approaching from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds 6-16, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic up to 22 knots. In the evening NE winds 14-24, in the South Adriatic up to 28 knots. Sea 2-3, toward the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic, during the night elsehwere as well, 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy in places.

Moderate to strong, in the South Adriatic up to near gale force NE winds, easing in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic before the morning and turning gradually to light to moderate SE winds, locally in the open up to fresh. Sea slight and moderate, calming in the northern part of the Adriatic. In places fair.
