WARNING

Still in the morning in the Velebit Channel a risk of gusts of NE wind 35-45 knots. In the open sea a risk of gusts of NW wind 35-40 knots, diminishing till midday in the North, till late in the day in the Central, at night also in the South Adriatic. Thunderstorms in places, largely in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

SYNOPSIS

A shallow low over southern Adriatic is gradually filling up and shifting towards the east while a ridge of high is intensifying from the north.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

In the open sea NW wind10-20, locally southwards of Istria up to 26 knots, diminishing till midday in the North, till late in the day also in the major part of the Central Adriatic to 6-16 knots. Along the coast NE wind 6-16, still in the morning in the Velebit Channel up to 24 knots while in the afternoon mostly NW wind 6-16 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open sea southwards of Istria 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, there is also a risk of showers with thunder, largely in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS

Light to moderate NW wind, still in the first half of the night in the open of the South Adriatic moderate to strong, along the coast gradually turning to light, only in some places to moderate NE wind. Sea smooth to slight, still today locally in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic also moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, there is also a risk of showers with thunder, particularly today in the South and in a small part of the Central Adriatic.
