The ridge of high pressure is expected to intensify from the west.

WEATHER FORECAST FOR THE ADRIATIC FOR THE FIRST 12 HOURS

NW winds strengthening to 6-16 knots. Along the coast NE winds 4-12, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic up to 16, north of Istria up to 20, and in the Velebit Channel up to 26 knots, easing gradually. Sea 2-3, in the North Adriatic possibly up to 4. Visibility 20 km. Variably cloudy with a very little risk of light scattered rain.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic mostly clear, elswhere variably cloudy with a very little risk of light scattered rain. Along the coast mainly calm. In the open sea light to moderate NW winds, dying away in the North and Central Adriatic. Sea calm or smooth, locally in the open up to slight, mainly in the south of the Adriatic.
