LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC THIS MORNING AND ELSEWHERE ALONG THE COAST IN THE AFTERNOON. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL THIS MORNING STILL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-45 KNOTS.
Synopsis
The shallow trough is shifting further eastwards, while a ridge of high pressure is gradually intensifying over the Adriatic from the northwest.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NE, toward the open sea NW, and in the South Adriatic at first still SE winds, 6-16, in the Velebit Channel NE up to 20 knots. From the middle of the day NW winds 6-16, in the Central and South Adriatic 10-20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic in the afternoon possibly 3-4. In the North and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic, then elsewhere as well, gradual clearing, but still with a risk of isolated rain showers and thunder, mainly in the South Adriatic in the morning and elsewhere along the coast around midday and in the afternoon.

Mostly clear, but in places along the coast at first still variably cloudy with a little risk of isolated rain showers and thunder. Light to moderate, in the South and in the greater part of the Central Adriatic up to fresh NW wind, easing a little, firstly along the coast, where it will turn to light to moderate NE. Sea smooth or slight, in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic today still up to moderate.
