IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS, EASING A LITTLE LATE IN THE DAY AND DURING THE NIGHT. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, PARTICULARLY IN THE NORTH AND CENTRAL ADRIATIC.
Synopsis
The frontal system lies mainly north of the Adriatic, while the shallow low will be shifting from the Ligurian Sea toward the Adriatic.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NE winds 14-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 38 knots, easing slowly late in the day. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic calm or NE and NW winds 4-12, turning around midday to SE and SW and strengthening in places later on up to 18 knots. Sea increasing to 2-3, in the northern part to 3-4. Visibility 10-20 km. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, particularly in the North and Central Adriatic.

Moderate to strong NE winds, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force, easing slowly and turning in the open sea in the second part of the night to fresh NW. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate, only in places up to fresh SE and SW winds. Sea smooth or slight, locally in the North Adriatic up to moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder.
