IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40, STRENGTHENING IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC LATE IN THE DAY TO 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 65 KNOTS, AND SPREADING DURING THE NIGHT IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AS WELL. FOG PATCHES STILL LIKELY THIS MORNING. A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS.

The cold front is approaching the Adriatic from the north.

Variable winds, mainly SE and SW 4-14 knots. Along the coast of the North Adriatic NE winds 6-16, in the Velebit Channel up to 20 knots, easing briefly around midday but strengthening again late in the day and during the night to 12-24 knots. Sea 1-2, in the Velebit Channel 2-3, increasing in the North Adriatic late in the day and during the night. Visibility 10-20, in places this morning still possibly reduced to less than 1 km due to fog. Variably cloudy, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic with a risk of rain or showers with thunder.

In the North Adriatic NE winds strengthening to strong, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force, in places up to gale force, spreading around the middle of the night to a part of the Central Adriatic. Sea smooth, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic increasing to slight and moderate. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder.
