A CHANCE OF FOG PATCHES IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC. IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC DURING THE FORENOON STILL A RISK OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS. IN THE NORTH ADRIATIC IN THE SECOND PART OF THE NIGHT GUSTS OF SW and S WINDS STRENGTHENING TO 35-40 KNOTS.
Synopsis
The field of high pressure over the Adriatic is still weakening, while a trough with frontal system is expected to approach from the northwest during the night.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NW winds 4-14, in the South and Central Adriatic 10-20 knots, easing gradually in the afternoon. Sea in the Central and South Adriatic 2-3, in the open 3-4, and in the northern part of the Adriatic 1-2. Visibility 10-20, in places with mist reduced to around 4 km, and in the North Adriatic possibly to less than 1 km due to fog. Partly clear, but in places still variably cloudy with a risk of scattered rain or isolated train showers and thunder, mainly in the southern part of the Adriatic during the forenoon.
Weather forecast for the next 12 hours
Wind turning to S and SW, strengthening rapidly in the North Adriatic from the middle of the night to moderate to strong, and in the southern part of the Adriatic at first still moderate and fresh NW winds. Sea smooth or slight, increasing in the northern part of the Adriatic. Mist in places. A new cloud increase, bringing rain in places along the coast in the second part of the night.
