Deep trough with cold front is approaching the Adriatic from the northwest.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
SE and SW winds 8-18, strengthening firstly in the North Adriatic to 14-24 knots and turning gradually from midday to NW and NE 15-30 knots. Sea 2-3, increasing to 3-4. Visibility 10-20, in places reduced to around 5 km due to mist and in the North Adriatic at first possibly to less than 1 km due to fog. Variably cloudy with scattered rain and isolated rain showers with thunder. Air temperatures will drop.

Moderate to near gale force NW and NE winds. Sea slight and moderate, in the open of the Central and South Adriatic up to rough. Variably cloudy with rain in places and with a risk of isolated rain showers with thunder, but clearing is expected in the North, then in the Central Adriatic as well. Air temperatures will drop.
