IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC, AND IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL AT FIRST, LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS 35-60 KNOTS, EASING GRADUALLY, EXCEPT IN THE EXTREME SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC. LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS STILL POSSIBLE IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC TILL THE END OF THE DAY.

The ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the north, while the trough with frontal system is shifting eastwards.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
In the Central and South Adriatic NE and N winds 16-32, easing gradually to 14-26, during the night to 6-16, and turning toward the open sea to NW, except in the extreme south, where NE winds will still reach up to 24 knots. In the North Adriatic NE winds will rapidly ease and turn to NW, then, firstly in the open sea, to SE winds 4-14 knots. Sea 3-4, calming firstly in the northern part to 2-3. Visibility above 20 km. Mostly clear, only in the South Adriatic still variably cloudy with a risk of a little rain or isolated rain showers with thunder.

NE and N winds further easing, only in the extreme south of the Adriatic still up to strong. In the North Adriatic light to moderate SE wind is expected. Sea smooth or slight, only in the South Adriatic still up to moderate. Mostly clear. Air temperatures will drop a little.
