LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-50, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 60 KNOTS, EASING LATE IN THE DAY IN THE NORTH, DURING THE NIGHT IN THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC. STILL A CHANCE OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC AT FIRST.
Synopsis
The trough with frontal system is slowly withdrawing from the Adriatic eastwards, while the ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the northwest.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
In the North and Central Adriatic NE and N winds 14-26, in the Velebit Channel NE up to 32, turning in the open sea in the second part of the day to NW and gradually easing late in the day to 8-18 knots. In the South Adriatic NE and NW winds 10-20, strengthening during the day to 14-26, in the far south up to 30 knots. Sea 3-4, in the South Adriatic at first 2-3, easing in the North and Central Adriatic in the evening to 2-3. Visibility 20 km. In the North Adriatic mostly clear, elsewhere still variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, then gradual clearing through the day.
