IN THE NORTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-40, IN THE VELEBIT AND VINODOL CHANNELS TO 45 KNOTS, EASING IN THE AFTERNOON, BUT STRENGTHENING AGAIN LATE IN THE DAY. A CHANCE OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS, MAINLY IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC.
Synopsis
The field of high pressure lies in low levels and it is extending toward the Adriatic from the north, while moist and unstable air is circulating in high levels.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NE and NW winds 6-16, in the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic NE winds up to 22, briefly easing in the afternoon and turning to NW and SW, along the coast of the southern part of the Adriatic to SE, 4-14 knots. Sea 2-3. Visibility 20 km. In the North Adriatic mostly sunny, or fine and fair, in the Central and South Adriatic cloudy with a chance of scattered rain or isolated rain showers and thunder. Partial cloud thinning in the Central and in a part of the South Adriatic toward the end of the day.

In the North and in a part of the Central Adriatic moderate to strong NE, but more to the south of the Adriatic variable winds. Sea smooth or slight. Gradual cloud increase, mainly along the coast, bringing possibly some rain or a few spotty showers, mainly in the South Adriatic.
