LOCAL GUSTS OF N and NE WINDS IN THE VELEBIT AND VINODOL CHANNELS AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC, REACHING 35-45 KNOTS.
Synopsis
A branch of the anticyclone in low levels is extending toward the Adriatic from the north, while moist and unstable air is still circulating in high levels.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
N and NE winds 6-16, in the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic 4-14, gradually strengthening through the day and turning to NW winds 8-18, in places up to 20 knots. Sea 2-3, in the afternoon possibly up to 4. Visibility 20 km. Fair, but cloud increase is expected along the coast around midday giving a chance of brief scattered rain or isolated rain showers.
Weather forecast for the next 12 hours
Moderate to fresh, in the North Adriatic light to moderate NW winds, turning toward the end of the day to N and NE and easing a little through the night. Sea smooth, locally slight. Partial clearing is expected till the end of the day, then becoming clear or fine.
