IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL AND SOUTH ADRIATIC LOCAL GUSTS OF NE and N WINDS 35-45 KNOTS. IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL LOCAL GUSTS OF NE WINDS 35-60, EASING IN THE SECOND PART OF THE DAY TO 45 KNOTS. STILL A CHANCE OF LIGHT ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH ADRIATIC THIS MORNING.
Synopsis
The shallow trough is slowly withdrawing from the South Adriatic eastwards, while the ridge of high pressure is intensifying from the west.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NE and NW winds 8-18, in places of the Central Adriatic at first still up to 26 knots. In the Velebit Channel NE winds 14-28, in the second part of the day up to 24 knots. Sea 2-3, in the open of the South Adriatic 3-4. Visibility 20 km. Fine or fair. In the South and in a part of the Central Adriatic variably cloudy with a chance of isolated rain showers and thunder. Clearing is expected late in the day.
