Local gusts of NE wind 35-40 knots at the foot of Velebit, midday temporarily diminishing, then during the night gusts of NE wind of about 35 knots still in places along the coast. A low risk of light isolated thunderstorms in the open sea, mainly in the first part of the day.
Synopsis
The ridge of high pressure is intensifying towards the Adriatic from the northwest while a small quantity of unstable air is still in high levels.
Weather forecast for the Adriatic for the first 12 hours
NE and NW 4-14, in the Velebit Channel NE up to 20 knots, from midday NW and W winds 8-18 knots, in the evening again turning to NE wind along the coast. Sea 2-3, in the afternoon 4 locally in the open of the South and of a part of the Central Adriatic. Visibility more than 20 km. Fine to fair while variable cloudiness and a low risk of isolated rain showers and thunder in the open sea.
