LOCAL GUSTS OF NE, IN THE SOUTH OF THE ADRIATIC AT FIRST OF SE WINDS, 35-55, IN THE VELEBIT CHANNEL UP TO 75 KNOTS, EASING LATER ON. SEA IN THE OPEN POSSIBLY UP TO 5 AT FIRST. INITIALLY, STILL A CHANCE OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS IN THE SOUTH AND IN A PART OF THE CENTRAL ADRIATIC.

The ridge of high pressure is intensifying over the Adriatic from the northwest, while the low over the Tyrrhenian Sea is shifting southwards.

NE, in the south of the Adriatic at first still SE winds 12-28, in the Velebit Channel up to 38, easing to 10-20, in the Velebit Channel to 28 knots. Sea 3-4, in the open possibly up to 5 at first. Visibility 10-20 km. Clearing up in the North Adriatic. Elsewhere still scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder, ceasing along the coast, where partial clearing is expected through the night.

Mostly clear, but in the open sea of the South and Central Adriatic at first still variably cloudy with a chance of scattered rain, isolated rain showers and thunder. Light to fresh, in the Velebit Channel up to near gale force NE winds, easing to light to moderate and turning to NW. Only in the far south of the Adriatic still moderate to strong NE winds. Sea slight and moderate.
